One person died, and another was hospitalized after three vehicles crashed on Highway 119 east of Nederland on Wednesday evening, officials said.

Initial indications are that a pickup truck, an SUV and a minivan collided with one another, according to a Wednesday night news release from Colorado State Patrol. One occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead, and another was taken to the hospital with the extent of injuries not listed.

The roadway is currently closed for five miles between Nederland and Boulder, with no estimated time of reopening, as officials investigate the crash, according to the release.
