Adventure Day to offer chance to try something new at Pikes Peak region state park
Want a chance to try something new outside? An upcoming event at a state park in the Pikes Peak region will offer a great chance to do so.
On August 1, Cheyenne Mountain State Park will be hosting ‘Adventure Day 2026,’ which will include archery, rock wall climbing, wildlife education, a mud pit, BB guns, and more. It’s one of the most popular days to visit the park each year, and with a valid state park pass, attending is free.
Taking place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the location will be the Limekiln Trailhead and parking area. Visitors will not only get to experience all that the event has to offer, but the rest of the park, as well.
Cheyenne Mountain State Park is located just south of Colorado Springs, featuring 28 miles of trail that range from easy to moderate in difficulty. A highlight of the park is the Dixon Trail System, which reaches the top of Cheyenne Mountain via a 17-plus-mile hike.
