Colorado’s biggest beach just got a little more serene with a relaxation pool, toddler area, Puddle Dunkers, an obstacle course and 4 new slides.

While temperatures reach peak highs, Water World has been working on a new spot to cool off.

Summit Canyon had a soft opening to the public on Monday and Tuesday, with some guests getting glimpses into the park’s new attractions.

The new section of the park features four new slides, including two body flumes with sections made of crystal-clear fiberglass, one of which is a clear capsule drop slide, a high-speed tube ride and the world’s first HIVE slide, which features two 360-degree helixes.

The creation of Summit Canyon comes after a long run with a beloved section of the park, known as “Bermuda Triangle,” which had beloved attractions such as the Screamin’ Mimi, Tortuga Run and Pirate Plunge.

There aren’t just four new slides for the thrill-seekers, but an entire section catered to young families and those looking for a spot just to relax.

Here’s everything you can expect from the new Summit Canyon:

Slides

Aspen Falls is a clear capsule drop slide that will drop you down 425 feet of slide, with clear sections so you can see out. You will have to brave the steps to the top for stunning views of the park. This capsule is a body flume.

Columbine Cascade is another body flume ride that will take guests through 520 feet of slide with sections of twists and turns and clear fiberglass so you can see out.

Marmot Mayhem, one of the world’s first HIVE slides, is a tube slide that you can ride with a friend. It features two 360-degree, open-air helixes that will thrash you through rapids as you whirl around a toilet-bowl-like flume — twice. The open-air whirling gives you full views of how far off the ground you are, but you might not even get a chance to realize it as you get thrown around by the freezing-cold rapids.

They have also added a new high-speed tube ride, Runoff Rapids, which can be ridden alone or with a friend and features near-zero Gs as you wind through switchbacks.

Obstacle Course

The new Creekside Crossing offers a dose of excitement without committing fully to a thrilling ride or slide. Young kids can test their agility with an obstacle course which features a rope vine where kids can hop from lily pad to log as they work on their balance over water.

The obstacle course is perfect for children who are not quite tall enough yet to ride some of the more “thrilling” rides, with open lines of sight between Critter Cove, Creekside Crossing and the Puddle Dunker.

You can also keep an eye on your kids from the new relaxation pool, which has a clear line of sight for moms with kids of different ages with differing abilities and interests.

With ample lifeguard stations all around, moms or dads can feel good knowing their kids are safe in the water.

Relaxation Pool

Finally, a place to just sunbathe. The new Emerald Lake at Summit Canyon is an adults-only pool made just for relaxation and floating. With a water depth of only 3 feet, it’s the perfect depth and temperature to cool off from the hot sun, read a book or listen to your favorite podcast.

The pool features pool noodles and flotation devices for guests to use, and an infinity edge with a waterfall feature that overlooks the obstacle course at Creekside Crossing for those who are just looking to unwind.
