Denver weather: Heat wave and dry conditions persist
It is yet another hot, dry, and slightly windy day in Denver on Friday.
The National Weather Service said to expect a high of around 94 degrees with variable winds up to 18 miles per hour.
As the weekend approaches, the weather pattern refuses to change due to high pressure in the region. Forecasters warn that a heat advisory might come into effect today.
The weather service predicts the weekend to be much of the same dry conditions, but is hopeful for “significant monsoonal moisture and cooler temperatures” arriving early next week.
Drought maps have been updated for Colorado as much of the state continues to feel the effects of the lack of moisture.
The latest US Drought Monitor, issued on July 16th, 2026, continues to indicate drought conditions deepening across SC and SE Colorado. There is the potential for some relief as monsoonal moisture increases across the Rockies through the end of July. https://t.co/PFV6V947GY #cowx pic.twitter.com/IZQsk42OzA
