1 killed, 8 injured in shooting at southeast Denver nightclub
One person was killed and eight others were injured in a shooting at a nightclub in southeast Denver, police said early Monday morning.
The Denver Police Department first reported the shooting in the 9700 block of East Hampden Avenue on social media just before 1 a.m. Police later added to the thread just after 5 a.m. to note that the incident involved nine total victims, including one who was pronounced dead.
A department spokesperson confirmed to 9NEWS that the incident was reported at 12:07 a.m. and took place in the patio area or parking lot of Ultra Lounge, located at 9755 E. Hampden Ave.
Officials believe at least two people fired shots, though the circumstances and suspect information remained under investigation early Monday morning.
Westbound Hampden Avenue was closed at South Florence Street for the investigation, according to 9NEWS.
