River surfing might be taking off in Colorado in recent years, but that’s not the type of surfing a man was allegedly partaking in when he got arrested in Colorado’s Sedgwick County on July 15.

According to the local sheriff’s office, a suspect named Daniel Ray Ballance, of Quartzville, Arizona, was allegedly spotted “surfing” naked on top of a Union Pacific Railroad locomotive that entered Sedgwick County. Commonly referred to as ‘subway surfing’ in major metropolitan areas, this act involves getting on top of a moving train – considered highly dangerous and illegal.

Ballance is alleged to have eventually broken a window on the train to enter it.

“Daniel expressed his love of vodka, beer, and playing the Banjo,” wrote the sheriff’s office. “Unfortunately, we had to separate him from those loves and the train ride. Instead Daniel is spending some time at an all expenses paid stay in jail, where he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

He was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges.

All charges are merely accusations and all suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
