Where good news shines

Denver Pioneers hockey has a date for its next banner raising.

DU will raise its 2026 NCAA championship banner at Magness Arena when the Pios host Michigan on Friday, Oct. 16.

It’s a fitting opponent. Michigan’s nine national championships trail only Denver’s 11, the NCAA record. Denver and Michigan will play in the regular season for the first time since they were members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The Wolverines haven’t played in Denver since 1981.

Game time is 7 p.m.

Denver claimed its 11th national title with a 2-1 win against Wisconsin on April 13 in Las Vegas.
