Black bear reportedly attacked human near remote Boulder County reservoir

In breaking news, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced that the agency was responding to a reported bear attack near Beaver Reservoir in Boulder County at 2:59 p.m. on July 24.

The attack reportedly left one person injured, though few details related to the attack have been released at this time.

Beaver Reservoir is located in a remote part of Boulder County, about 15 miles northwest of the city of Boulder.

While bear attacks on humans are quite rare, they can occur. Though official numbers haven’t been released quite yet, it’s believed that dryness and a lack of available food in backcountry terrain will mean more bear reports in civilized areas with the species drawn away from their natural habitat in search of non-natural food sources.
