A pedestrian was killed Saturday in a crash involving multiple motorists on northbound Interstate 25 near Auraria Parkway.

Preliminary information indicates the pedestrian exited a stalled vehicle on the interstate and was struck by oncoming traffic, authorities said.

Officials said the pedestrian involved in the incident was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic delays were reported in the area as investigators worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
