3 snowstorms predicted to hit Colorado in upcoming weeks

Your snow dances are paying off, with even more snow in the forecast for this month.

According to OpenSnow, Colorado will likely see snow multiple times in November with three potential snowstorms brewing in the forecast. These blankets of snow will likely hit parts of northern Colorado starting Sunday into Monday (November 10-11),  followed by a second storm on Thursday (November 14), and possibly a third chance for powder on Sunday, (November 17). While accumulations are looking light so far, you never know what mother nature has up her sleeve!

Please note that all weather statements and snow accumulations are subject to change. We recommend visiting  OpenSnow for a full in-depth forecast throughout the winter season.

As winter weather continues, here are a few important things to remember:

  • Prevent auto theft. Avoid “ puffing” your car.
  • Highways and mountain passes are known to turn dangerous quickly. When winter weather strikes, pay attention to closures and drive carefully, including on these dangerous roads in Colorado.
  • Traction laws are currently in place on I-70.  Make sure your tires also meet the minimum requirement of three-sixteenths inch tread.
  • Snow and icy roads often lead to dangerous conditions. If traveling, stay alert, use caution, and reduce speeds.
  • October got off to a snowy start, resulting in chair lifts spinning ahead of schedule. For a full list of opening and closing dates for all of Colorado’s ski resorts, click here.
