Colorado could see up to a foot of snow or more by Sunday evening, according to a report from OpenSnow meteorologist Joel Gratz.
The first of the two snowstorms is expected to hit Colorado Thursday evening into Friday, bringing 1-5 inches of snow to the northern and central half of the state. The second snowstorm will blanket Colorado’s northern, central, and southwest mountains with 4-8 inches of new snow or more from Saturday evening into Sunday. This storm is expected to pile up to 12 inches in some areas.
Rain and snow showers are likely to start Sunday morning before 8:00 a.m. and go through 11:00 a.m. for the Denver area, with a chance of rain showers continuing through the evening. Colorado Springs will be mostly rainy on Sunday evening with a slight chance of snow showers between 8:00 p.m and midnight.

As winter weather returns, please remember to drive safely and always wear a seatbelt. Take it slow on ice and snow-covered roads. Always give yourself enough time to arrive at your destination and leave extra space between your car and the car in front of you. Be prepared and stay warm!
