Trail Ridge Road closes ahead of incoming Colorado snowstorm

Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park will temporarily close at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, ahead of a major October snowstorm – bringing snowfall predictions of 12 inches, freezing temperatures, and strong gusty winds to parts of Colorado.

According to an announcement from Rocky Mountain National Park, closures will be in place on Rainbow Curve on the eastern side and Milner Pass on the western side of the road.
Old Fall River Road will also remain closed to all uses due to ongoing road maintenance. The road will reopen to bicycles, leashed pets, and walkers from Friday, October 11 through Saturday, November 30. For more details, click here.

The Alpine Visitor Center will be closing for the season on Tuesday, October 8, at 5 p.m, with the Trail Ridge Store closing for the season the very next day on Wednesday, October 9, at 2 p.m.
