Rocky Mountain National Park to Waive Fees for Weekend

Rocky Mountain National Park to Waive Fees for Weekend

While Rocky Mountain National Park has been catching a lot of grief as of late due to a proposal that would raise parks fees to $70, they will be participating in a free weekend for visitors that starts on Saturday, November 11, continuing through November 12. Entrance to the park will cost nothing during this two day period, while fees for camping and concessions will still apply.

This free entrance weekend is a celebration of Veterans Day, the last two fee-free days of the 2017 season for Rocky Mountain National Park. Typically, day passes to the park are $20, with weekly passes coming in at $30, though these fees may increase soon.

Rocky Mountain National Park attracts more than 4.5 million visitors each year, encompassing 415 million square acres. Established in 1915, a few of the big attractions here include Trail Ridge Road (closed for the season), Dream Lake, and Longs Peak.

Colorado’s other National Parks will also be free to enter during this time period.
