There’s a new “highest restaurant” in North America and it’s in Colorado

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area has officially opened the highest restaurant in North America.

Perched at the top of Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Il Rifugio at Snowplume is a European-style bistro that’s located at roughly 12,500 feet. The previous “highest restaurant in North America” was Alpino Vino in Telluride, which is located at 11,966 feet.

Two things that this high-altitude dining option specializes in, according to the Arapahoe Basin website, are wine and cheese or charcuterie pairings.

It’s also mentioned on the website that this restaurant is reminiscent of the Alps, capitalizing on the panoramic mountain views.

It’s open from 9AM to 3:30PM during ski season, with food service lasting from 11AM to 2PM.
