Breckenridge differs from other ski resorts of its kind because of its vibrant town and because the ski mountain is set uphill, apart from town. This isn’t an inconvenience though—it allows the town of Breckenridge to have more character and to have more than a couple blocks of interesting shops and restaurants, unlike many other resort towns. This old mining town still maintains its old-west mining charm while still boasting upscale restaurants, great shopping, and a smattering of festivals throughout the year.

There’s more to the ski mountain than meets the eye—with five massive peaks spanning 2,908 acres, this mountain caters to all abilities and interests. For beginner and intermediate terrain, Breck has incredible long and flowing groomers that are freshly groomed every night. If you’re looking for more advanced terrain, hit up North America’s highest chairlift, the Imperial Express, which takes you to the high alpine bowls for incredible views and steep terrain. More of a park rat? Check out one of Breck’s four terrain parks; there’s one for every skill level. This mountain has as much width as it does depth. It’s not just a tourist mountain or town, the locals and in-the-know skiers frequent Breck and love it as much as any visitor.
