The Denver Police Department arrested an 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old man in connection with shooting that occurred in the city last week.

Officers arrested Jeison Urbina-Mancia, 18, and Gerardo Martinez Navarette, 21, on Saturday morning on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, according to a press release from the department.

The shooting happened in the 800 Block of North Elati Street — near the Lincoln Park neighborhood — around 3 p.m. on March 4. Officers responded to the report and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

Investigators found that the victim and suspects knew each other and the shooting may have occurred after a prior conflict.

The Denver District Attorney’s Office will make a decision on final charges after investigation.
