One dead, one injured in overnight hit-and-run on I-25 in Denver

One person is dead and another is injured after an overnight hit-and-run crash on Interstate 25 northbound in Denver involving two motorists.

Police first reported the crash, which took place on the northbound ramp at Speer Boulevard, just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday on social media, according to the post from the Denver Police Department

The driver of one of the vehicles ran away, police told 9News.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes of I-25 for over two hours while investigating the scene, the post says.

Police again closed the interstate’s northbound lanes just south of Speer Boulevard for further investigation at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, according to the post. They then reopened the roadway after another two hours.
