WATCH: Video appears to capture tourists chasing grizzly bear at national park

A shocking clip posted on the Tourons on National Parks Instagram page captures what appears to be people chasing after what is believed to be a grizzly bear in Canada.

This incident is said to have unfolded at Jasper National Park, and while the clip is short, it’s fairly easy to tell what’s going on. Note the bear spotted on the road ahead, and the people – including at least one child – running after it. Maybe the people are running toward the vehicle, but given that the man appears to be pulling out his phone for a picture, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Watch the clip below:

Obviously, charging an apex predator isn’t a good idea. It’s hard to definitively tell if this bear is a grizzly or a brown-colored black bear as both species are present in Jasper National Park. Either way, don’t do this. Not only is it wildlife harassment, it’s dangerous, too.

Bear should generally be given at least 100 yards of space.
