9 spots where it’s still possible to get a meal for less than $10 in Denver

Lights Out Burger

A recent post on the ‘Denver Food’ Reddit board has been popping off in recent hours, tackling the topic of ‘places where it’s still possible to eat for cheap in Denver.’ It’s no secret that eating out in the Mile High City has gotten pricy in recent years, but those who look hard enough can still find a good deal.

Here’s a look at a few Denver-area spots that got mentioned in that post, with a bit more information about some of the deals that are offered:

Editor’s Note: All deals are subject to change without notice. Check with current pricing before planning your trip.

1. Rise & Shine Biscuit Kitchen

All of the breakfast sandwiches here are under $6, and given the high reviews, this place seems to be a spot that certainly delivers a great bang for your buck. Find multiple locations around the Denver metro area.

Yelp rating: 4.5 stars

2. Chi’s Express

Pricing almost seems to good to be true at Chi’s Express. Get fresh-made Chinese cuisine by the scoop or take advantage of combo specials. Pricing is a little unclear online, with some sources putting each scoop at $1.99 while others say $2.99 – either way, it’s a great deal.

Yelp rating: 4.1 stars

3. Jimano’s

Regardless of the type of pizza you’re looking for, you’ll probably be able to find it at Jimano’s. While deals here vary by day of the week, ‘50% off Wednesdays‘ is what caught my eye. Pay half-price for any pizza of any size with any crust.

Yelp rating: 4.0 stars

4. La Diabla Pozole y Mezcal

This spot has a lot of daily deals going on throughout the week, but the best might be the ‘Jose’s Gone Fishing’ deal on Wednesdays – 2 al pastor tacos and a margarita for $5. Also on Wednesday, buy any cocktail and get two free tacos of the pastor or fish variety.

Yelp rating: 4.1 stars

5. Atomic Cowboy

While this spot might be best known for their massive pizzas, their burger is pretty darn good, too – a double smashburger with aged American cheese, house-made pickles, diced onion, and burger sauce on a garlic butter brioche bun. It’s even been voted as the best burger in Denver before – and on Monday’s it’s only $8 all day, which is the same price that’s offered during a Monday through Friday happy hour.

Yelp rating: 4.1 stars

6. Hops & Pie

This highly-rated spot has various deals throughout the week, but one that stands out is featured on Thursday – $7.50 for a Detroit-style cheese pizza, with the option to add toppings for a little more.

Yelp rating: 4.3 stars

7. Santiago’s

Serving up Mexican food described as ‘authentic and affordable,’ Santiago’s has multiple locations and most menu items are priced much lower compared to what’s typical in the Mile High City. A hard shell taco is just $2.50, for example, with many of their burritos coming in at under $4 – they’re not massive burritos, but still a great deal.

Yelp rating: 3.8 stars

8. Retro Room

Not only does this spot offer $4 you-call-it drinks during a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., they’ve also got a burger and a beer daily deal that’s priced at $7. It’s hard to find a spot that’s cheaper than that. Don’t want the beer? The burger by itself is only $5.95, all day every day.

Yelp rating: 3.8 stars

9. El Chalate

Know for its Salvadorian and Mexican food, El Chalate has menu prices that are almost hard to believe. Combo plates come in at under $10 and pupusas are only $1.75.

Yelp rating: 3.9 stars
