These are 2025’s 10 ‘coolest’ things made in Colorado

Clarity

For the past four years, the Colorado Chamber of Commerce has hosted a competition to celebrate inventions made in the state.

And the business advocacy group has selected their top 10 finalists for the “Coolest Things Made in Colorado” in 2025.

An overall winner will be selected by judges on Oct. 23. And the public will have a chance to vote online to select the “People’s Choice” award.

“From breakthroughs in space technology to products that support our farmers, protect our environment, and celebrate our love for the outdoors,” said Loren Furman, president and CEO of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, in a press release, “these finalists reflect what makes Colorado such a unique place to live and work.”

Last year’s winner was Freedom Trax, a motorized off-road attachment for wheelchairs to go in different terrains such as sand, snow, trails, cobblestone and more. It’s manufactured in Golden.

Here are this year’s finalists:

AE.1 Cosmos

An all-electric trailer by Lightship is made in Broomfield.

AE.1 Cosmos

A car trailer aiming to be energy efficient is one of the finalists this year. The AE.1 Cosmos by Lightship claims to be the first all-electric aero-electric travel trailer. It includes a 77 kilowatt-hour battery and rooftop solar panels that can maintain off-grid living for up to a week.

The electric trailer is made in Broomfield, according to the Colorado chamber.

AIEye

AIEye are glasses made in Golden to help translate nonverbal communication cues to people who are vision-impaired or autistic. Using a camera integrated into the glasses, it detects facial expressions, gestures and body language and signals with vibrations on a wristband. It’s created by HapWare

Austere Remediation Unit (ARU-10T)

The ARU-10T is another product made in Golden. The technology is designed to clean 10 tons of soil contaminated with diesel per day. It removes up to 99.99% of pollutants and can separate the diesel to be reused.

The chamber credited the technology for helping limit water contamination, reducing greenhouse gasses and helping keep contaminated soil out of landfills.

Autonomous Nano Tractor

This electric, self-driving mini tractor from Barn Owl Precision Agriculture was made in La Junta.

The Autonomous Nano Tractor was designed for small, midsize and regenerative farms. It can help cut labor by 50% through tasks such as weeding, spraying and planting. The company said the technology was designed to help farmers struggling with the increasing costs of business and keeping up with agricultural-technology.

Clarity-1

Colorado’s robust aerospace industry is featured with this technology. Clarity-1 from Albedo Space claims to be the first commercial very-low-earth-orbit satellite that can capture pictures at a resolution usually only planes and drones could have taken before. The satellite was developed in Broomfield and was launched last March through SpaceX.

Several weeks ago, the National Reconnaissance Office awarded Albedo its second contract for its high-definition satellite images for U.S. defense and intelligence services.

The chamber recognized the technology that can capture a 10 cm resolution, or every pixel equals 10 cm on the ground, for its potential applications in city planning and climate research.

Innovaflex Arrays

Made in Colorado Springs, the Innovaflex Arrays by InnovaFlex Foundry can fit complex electrical systems on flexible materials or glass. It can have different uses such as helping researchers study human tissue and how it responds to different treatments or medicines.

Laser Maze Challenge

The Lazer Maze Challenge, a finalist for the Colorado Chamber of Commerce’s award celebrating the coolest things made in the state, was created in Longmont.

Laser Maze Challenge

Forget laser tag and escape rooms. Why not combine both? Funovation has created a Laser Maze Challenge in Longmont where players have to avoid laser beams within a certain period of time. There are three different game modes and incorporates a live leaderboard.

Spectra Optia Apheresis System

Another medical technology is featured as a finalist. The Spectra Optia Apheresis System is made by Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies in Lakewood that debuted in 2007. It’s a medical device used for separating blood components and cell processing. It’s now used in more than 125 countries.

The Narwhals

A device that cools body heat quickly? Apex Cool Labs has done it.

The Narwhals from Apex Cool Labs is a portable device that can cool human body temperature through the palm of a hand. It’s made in Boulder and used by firefighters, athletes, construction workers and others in harsh and hot environments.

Farmbox

FarmBox Foods is a finalist for the Colorado Chamber’s award celebrating local inventions for its patented vertical farming technology designed for shipping containers.

Vertical Hydroponic Farm by FarmBox Foods

The last finalist is the Vertical Hydroponic Farm in Aurora. FarmBox Foods has a patented vertical farming technology that can go inside old shipping containers, aiming to use the most of the space for growing and minimizing use of water and energy.

The technology can help grow mushrooms, plants and herbs year-round.
