Denver fire at vacant hotel injures one

Denver Fire Department firefighters responded to an early Monday fire at an abandoned hotel at Colfax Avenue and Valenctia Street. 

The blaze sent one man to the hospital, firefighters posted on X. 

Fire crews found “heavy fire on the first floor and in the basement” of the two-story building, according to DFD. 

“Fire crews on scene checking for hotspots and venting smoke from building,” according to a post on X. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
