Broncos put TE Lucas Krull on injured reserve, promote LB Garret Wallow off practice squad
As expected, the Broncos placed tight end Lucas Krull on injured reserve Saturday and signed linebacker Garret Wallow off the practice squad to take his spot on the roster.
Krull suffered a fracture in Thursday’s practice in his left foot. He had experienced pain, and an MRI after the workout confirmed the injury. He must miss at least Denver’s next four games, starting with Sunday’s game at Philadelphia.
Wallow had used up all three of his allowed elevations for the Broncos, so they had to sign him to the 53-man roster for him to play again for them this season. Wallow, who has played well on special teams, is expected against the Eagles to be active for a fourth straight game.
After missing the first four games, defensive tackle Malcolm Roach (calf) and linebacker Drew Sanders (foot) became eligible to be activated off injured reserve. However, as expected, neither was activated Saturday to play against the Eagles.
Krull played in the first three games of the season, having two receptions for 15 yards, before being a healthy scratch in last Monday’s 28-3 win over Cincinnati. The Broncos on Sunday are expected to activate Evan Engram, Adam Trautman, and Nate Adkins, the same three tight ends they used against the Bengals.
