Denver weather: Rain showers return Monday afternoon, then a warm up starts

Continued soggy weather is forecast for Monday around Denver and the surrounding suburbs as another low pressure system pumps moisture into the Front Range.

Denver International Airport only recorded 0.06 inches of rain, however, the Jefferson County Court building in Golden recorded 0.62 inches of rain from Sunday’s rain event.

Denver residents can expect a 40% chance of rain showers, mainly after 4 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. East winds between 6 to 9 mph become north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Tonight, expect a 50% chance of showers before midnight. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. North northeast winds between 5 to 8 mph become calm in the evening.

Drying out begins Tuesday as the rain exists and the sun returns partially ahead of a week with above-average temperatures.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 17 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 78. South southwest wind around 6 mph becoming east northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
