Aurora pedestrian found dead in crosswalk on Tower Road

A pedestrian was found dead in a signal-controlled crosswalk on Tower Road in Aurora Thursday night.

Officers found the 23-year-old man lying in a crosswalk along the Unnamed Creek Trail, located in the 2700 block of South Tower Road, just before midnight Thursday, according to a Friday news release from the Aurora Police Department.

Witnesses told police that he may have been hit by two vehicles that left the scene, according to the release. A third also hit the man, but the motorist remained on-site and is cooperating with authorities.

Investigators have not found any indication that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crashes, according to the release. Authorities do not yet know whether the pedestrian had the right of way or the signal activated before he was hit.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
