Pedestrian dead after crash on Interstate 25 in southeast Denver Saturday

A pedestrian died after a crash on Interstate 25 southbound in southeast Denver in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Denver police first posted about the crash on the highway near Yale Avenue at 4 a.m. Saturday, adding that the highway was closed in the southbound direction at University Avenue.

After initially saying the crash had resulted in serious injuries, police later added about two hours later saying responders had pronounced the pedestrian dead.

Police added one final post just after 7:30 a.m. saying that the closure on the highway had been lifted.
