Denver dubbed one of top American cities for New Year’s Eve (+ 5 events to attend)

With 2025 almost over, it’s time to make plans to ring in the New Year. Colorado has some great celebrations to take part in.

WalletHub recently released the results of a data analysis that sought to determine a few of the best cities for New Year’s Eve celebrations, and one Colorado city ranked among the top cities.

To create the rankings, WalletHub compared the 100 biggest cities based on three dimensions – entertainment and food, costs, and safety and accessibility. Indicators included legality of fireworks, the nightlife options per capita, food affordability, and the forecasted precipitation for Dec. 31.

Denver ultimately snagged the 18th place spot. The Mile High City ranked 15th for entertainment and food, 57th for costs, and 63rd for safety and accessibility.

The Mile High City offers a mix of diverse New Year’s Eve celebrations, including big parties, family-friendly events, and fireworks.

A few of the more popular events going on this year include a ball-drop at the Mile High Tree, Decadence NYE (an electronic music show), Sheraton’s NYE Cocktail Party, Ritz-Carlton’s Gatsby’s White Rose Gala, and New Year’s Eve in the Great Hall at Denver Union Station (find additional events here).

Orlando, Florida ranked as the best city for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Glendale ranked as the worst.
