Temporary overnight closures scheduled on I-70 near Idaho Springs for bridge construction
Drivers can anticipate two overnight westbound Interstate 70 closures this week at the bottom of Floyd Hill on Monday, Dec. 15 and Tuesday, Dec. 16.
The closures will take place between the US 6 interchange (Exit 244) off and on ramps for bridge construction. They are scheduled to be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) also said that drivers should expect 20 minute traffic holds multiple times per day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Monday, Dec. 15 and Thursday, Dec. 18. The holds will be for rock scaling and blasting operations above eastbound and westbound I-70 between the Veterans Memorial Tunnels and the Homestead Road interchange near Idaho Springs. CDOT also said there might be intermittent traffic holds on Central City Parkway, County Road 314, US 6. and Us 40.
