Christmas Eve crash involving two dirt bikes kills 15-year-old in Colorado

A Christmas Eve dirt bike crash left one dead and one hospitalized in Colorado Springs.

According to Colorado State Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on December 24 at about 5 p.m., involving two individuals on two separate dirt bikes – a 15-year-old and a 21-year-old, both males. The tragic incident took place in the area of South Ellicott Highway and Jayhawk Avenue near Ellicott, Colorado.

Once first responders arrived, life-saving measures were attempted during the wait for emergency medical helicopters. Unfortunately, the 15-year-old teen was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 21-year-old male was flown to a local medical facility via helicopter.

At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Condolences go out to those impacted by this teen’s death.
