FlatIron Crossing announces restaurants coming to new development

The owners of FlatIron Crossing, the shopping mall in Broomfield off of U.S. Highway 36, have announced three restaurants are coming to its development HiFi in 2027.

HiFi — short for Hello FlatIrons and a play on Denver neighborhood names like RiNo and LoDo — will transform 25 acres of the mall’s surface parking lots and the former outdoor retail center The Village on the southwest side of the property. It will add 65,000 square feet for shops, restaurants, entertainment concepts and a 2.5-acre park.

There’s also plans to develop a 347-unit luxury apartment building with 20% affordable housing, as required by Broomfield.

The owner and developer Macerich said on Dec. 10 it found three tenants to fill up the project: Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Memoir – An American Grill and Shake Shack.

Memoir – An American Grill and Blue Sushi Sake Grill are restaurants ran by Omaha-based Flagship Restaurant Group. Blue Sushi Sake Grill was founded in 2002 and has more than 24 locations nationwide. It’ll be it’s first restaurant in the north Denver metro area, Macerich said.

“FlatIron Crossing’s new HiFi district perfectly aligns with Blue Sushi’s energy — dynamic, youthful, and experience-driven,” said Anthony Hitchcock, COO and co-owner of Flagship Restaurant Group, in a news release.

Memoir – An American Grill was founded in 2023 with one location in Omaha. HiFi will also become the home for the popular burger chain Shake Shack’s first Broomfield restaurant.

“Memoir – An American Grill, Blue Sushi Sake Grill and Shake Shack add to the exciting, and varied, best-in-class food and beverage offerings we are bringing to HiFi, with more terrific restaurant names still to come,” said Guy Mercurio, Macerich’s director of national restaurant leasing, in a news release.

All restaurants are slated to open in 2027.
