Ex-Colorado star Shedeur Sanders named to Pro Bowl Games as sub for Drake Maye
The Broncos’ loss was Shedeur Sanders’ gain.
The ex-Colorado star reportedly was named a Pro Bowl Games substitute at quarterback Monday. Sanders replaces Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who will be playing in Super Bowl LX after beating the Broncos, 10-7, in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game at Empower Field at Mile High.
The Sanders selection came as a surprise to many.

Sanders started the final seven games for the Cleveland Browns. He had 1,400 passing yards and seven touchdowns against 10 interceptions. A fifth-round pick in 2025, Sanders completed 56.3% of his pass attempts for a Browns team that fired Kevin Stefanski and remain without a head coach.
The other AFC quarterbacks named to the Pro Bowl Games are Josh Allen and Justin Herbert. The Pro Bowl Games are Feb. 1 in Orlando.
