Denver weather: A chance for rain Friday night
If you’re planning a romantic evening out in Denver with your Valentine on Friday, you might want to pack an umbrella, the weather service advises.
The National Weather Service in Boulder said there’s a 60% chance of rain in Denver Friday night, mainly before midnight.
The temperature in Denver on Friday is expected to reach 56 degrees. That’s about 11 degrees warmer than the average high for Feb. 13, according to weather service archive data.
The temperature in Denver is expected to dip to 34 degrees overnight, the weather service said.
Up in the Colorado mountains, about 2 to 6 inches of new snowfall is expected Friday afternoon and evening.
“Expect snow covered and slippery roads in places,” the weather service said.
Rain is expected in areas below about 7,000 to 8,000 feet elevation, the weather service said.
Once the rain moves out, Denver has a beautiful weekend forecast on tap, with sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s on Saturday and mid 60s on Sunday, meteorologists predict.
