Movie rundown for the weekend through April 27: ‘The Accountant 2’ opens

OPENING

“The Accountant 2” — (Action, R, 132 minutes). When an old acquaintance is killed, Wolf recruits his estranged brother to help him find the murderer.

“Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality” — (Documentary, not rated, 95 minutes). Looks at the soon-to-be Saint Carlo Acutis’ approach to the modern digital world while following a group of high school students who were encouraged to disconnect from technology while on a pilgrimage to Italy.

“Cheech and Chong’s Last Movie” — (Documentary, R, 120 minutes). Explores Cheech and Chong’s lives and their decades-long career of stand-up comedy, records and hit films.

“The Legend of Ochi” — (Adventure, PG, 96 minutes). Although a girl who lives in a remote village on the island of Carpathia has been taught to fear an animal species known as ochi, when she finds a wounded baby ochi that has been left behind, she goes on a quest to bring it home.

“The Metropolitan Opera: Le Nozze di Figaro” — (Opera, not rated, 235 minutes). A live broadcast of opera performed at The Metropolitan Opera.

“On Swift Horses” — (Drama, R, 112 minutes). When Muriel and her husband Lee’s lives are upended by the arrival of Lee’s brother, Muriel begins gambling on racehorses.

“Pink Floyd at Pompeii — MCMLXXII” — (Concert, not rated, 85 minutes). The 1972 film of Pink Floyd performing in the ruins of the ancient Roman Amphitheater in Pompeii without an audience is remastered in 4K with enhanced audio.

“The Shrouds” — (Drama, R, 120 minutes). A grieving widower and businessman invents a machine used to communicate with the dead.

Sneak Peek Showcase — (Special event, not rated, 70 minutes). CinemaCon event with trailers, never-before-seen footage and behind-the-scenes content from movies scheduled for theatrical release.

“Until Dawn” — (Drama, R, 117 minutes). A group of friends trapped in a time loop must survive until dawn to escape mysterious foes trying to kill them.

ONGOING

“A Minecraft Movie” — (Action, PG, 101 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. Four misfits are pulled into a mysterious and bizarre cubic land.

“A Working Man” — (Action, R, 116 minutes). Grade: C, Katie Walsh. Levon Cade has left his past profession as a legendary figure in the world of counterterrorism and is living an everyday life working in construction. But when a local college student goes missing, he is asked to use his skills to find her.

“The Amateur” — (Action, PG-13, 123 minutes). Grade: C-, Katie Walsh. After his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack, a CIA cryptographer is determined to find those responsible for her death.

“The Ballad of Wallis Island” — (Comedy, PG-13, 99 minutes). After winning the lottery, Charles, who lives alone on a remote island, dreams of getting his favorite band, McGwyer Mortimer, back together by asking them to play a private concert at his home.

“Black Bag” — (Drama, R, 93 minutes). Grade: A, Katie Walsh. Intelligence agent Kathryn Woodhouse’s legendary agent husband must decide to be loyal to his country or his marriage after Kathryn is suspected of betraying her nation.

“Death of a Unicorn” — (Comedy, R, 104 minutes). Grade: B-, Michael Phillips. While driving to a retreat, Elliott and his daughter Ridley hit a unicorn. When they bring the dead unicorn to the retreat, Elliott’s billionaire boss wants to exploit its curative powers.

“Disney’s Snow White” — (Musical, PG, 109 minutes). In this live-action adaptation of the 1937 film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” a princess and seven dwarfs try to save the kingdom from her stepmother, the evil queen.

“Drop” — (Drama, PG-13, 95 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. A widowed mother starts wondering if her charming date is the one sending threatening messages to her phone.

“The Friend” — (Drama, R, 120 minutes). Iris’s life is thrown into disarray after her friend and mentor dies and leaves her his Great Dane.

“Happy Gilmore” (2025 re-release) — (Comedy, PG-13, 92 minutes). A bad-tempered hockey player tries his hand at golf to try to earn enough money to get his grandmother’s house back after it was repossessed by the IRS.

“Hell of a Summer” — (Dark Comedy, R, 88 minutes). A masked killer is murdering counselors at Camp Pineway.

“Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh” — (Drama, not rated, 120 minutes). Lawyer and former president of the Indian National Congress C Sankaran Nair fights for the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

“The King of Kings” — (Animation, PG, 100 minutes). The story of Jesus Christ is seen through the eyes of a child and told by Charles Dickens.

“Mickey 17” — (Action, R, 137 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. An expendable named Mickey 17 takes a dangerous journey to try to colonize an ice planet.

“One to One: John & Yoko” — (Documentary, R, 100 minutes). Tells about John Lennon and Yoko’s life in 1972 in New York and centers on the One to One charity concert they did to benefit special-needs children.

“Pride & Prejudice” 20th Anniversary (2025 re-release) — (Drama, PG, 128 minutes). Rich Mr. Darcy finds himself falling in love with Elizabeth, a woman beneath his class. However, both will need to overcome their own pride and prejudice if the relationship is to work.

“Sinners” — (Horror, R, 137 minutes). Grade: A-, Katie Walsh. When twin brothers return to their hometown to leave their troubled lives behind and start over, they find that evil is waiting to welcome them back.

“Sneaks” — (Adventure, PG, 92 minutes). A designer sneaker lost in New York City must dig deep into his sole to find his sister so they can return to their rightful owner.

“Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith” 20th Anniversary (2025 re-release) — (Action, PG-13, 240 minutes). As the Clone Wars come to an end, Anakin Skywalker joins Chancellor Palpatine in a plot for galactic domination while Obi-Wan Kenobi pursues a new threat.

“The Ugly Stepsister” — (Drama, not rated, 110 minutes). In a world where beauty reigns supreme, Elvira goes to extreme measures while competing with her sister for physical perfection.

“Warfare” — (Action, R, 95 minutes minutes). Grade: A-, Adam Graham. The story of the chaos and brotherhood of war as told through the memory of a group of Navy SEALs who embarked on a dangerous mission in Ramadi, Iraq.

“The Wedding Banquet” — (Comedy, R, 102 minutes). Grade: B, Katie Walsh. To get a green card, a gay man named Min makes a deal with his lesbian friend Angela to marry her and in exchange pay for her IVF treatments. However, their elopement plans are ruined when Min’s grandmother surprises them with a Korean wedding banquet.

“The Woman in the Yard” — (Drama, PG-13, 85 minutes). A family wonders who a mysterious woman is after she shows up in their front yard to give them unsettling messages and chilling warnings.
