Denver Restaurant Week is back with deals starting at $25
Denver Restaurant Week has returned.
The 10-day celebration of the local restaurant industry begins this Friday.
The annual event is in its 22nd year and usually occurs in March, a typically slower period for Denver’s restaurant industry. This year’s edition will end March 15.
Denver Restaurant Week is an opportunity for people to try new restaurants around the metro area at more affordable price points, according to tourism agency Visit Denver. The event’s website shows dozens of dining establishments who have a menu of multi-course meals priced in tiers: $25, $35, $45 and $55.
The event includes deals from restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide and the James Beard Foundation such as Molotov Kitschen + Cocktails, Dio Mio, Ash’Kara and more.
It’s also an opportunity to try some of the newest dining establishments that have joined Denver’s restaurant scene such as Belles & Boots in Lower Downtown Denver, Chicken N Pickle in Thornton and Johnny Bechamel’s in the Washington Park area.
The event was founded in 2005 to help repair dismal perceptions of Denver’s dining scene, both nationally and locally. Since then, Denver’s reputation has improved with accolades from James Beard and Michelin (which will expand to include restaurants in all of Colorado’s cities in the next edition). Last year, the New York Times named Denver as one of five “great restaurant cities” in the U.S.
This year’s Denver Restaurant Week comes on the heels of a comprehensive report released last week detailing how Denver’s economic environment makes it difficult for local restaurants to survive. The report in partnership with city officials, Visit Denver and restaurant veterans calls for city and state leaders to help enact policies that would give well-needed relief for the industry.
