VIDEO: Two ski down Manitou Incline hiking trail after 44-inch snowfall
Skiers and snowboarders who have scaled the 2,000 feet of vertical gain to the top of the heavily-trafficked Manitou Incline near Colorado Springs have likely wondered what it would be like to carve down its steep slope.
With an average grade of 45 degrees and a maximum grade of 68 degrees, getting down it would be no easy task for most slopegoers – not to mention the route’s extremely narrow nature.
Plus, the Incline tends to be shut down when snow conditions make climbing it too dangerous, as is the case right now until next Monday (announced on Friday afternoon).
The wild conditions on the Manitou Incline, with 44 inches of snow landing locally in recent days, didn’t stop two slopesport enthusiasts from taking their skis to the top and heading down.
A clip published to Instagram captures two skiers bouncing down the steep slope amid plenty of powder. Check it out below:
How the skiers made it to the top of the Incline without their gear isn’t mentioned in the video.
