Denver Weather: Mild week ahead with more weekend snow possible

Weather in the Denver area is expected to be sunny with a high near 40 according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

A south-southwest wind with a windspeed of around 6 mph will change direction towards the east this afternoon.

Slick travel conditions are expected early Sunday morning across the Denver metro, Palmer Divide, and eastern plains. Road conditions should improve as temperatures warm during the morning hours.

Patchy fog is also possible this morning, mainly over Weld County and over the far northeast corner of the state. Visibility may occasionally be reduced to a half mile.

A few light mountain showers are possible during the week. There is a chance of colder weather with more widespread light snow starting Thursday night or Friday.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. South southwest wind around 7 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. South southwest wind 6 to 9 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.

Wednesday:  Sunny, with a high near 48.

Thursday:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 48.

Friday: A slight chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 43.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 46.
