Billie Eilish visits with animals and staff from two Colorado rescues ahead of show

Billie Eilish visited Brighter Days Dog Rescue in Boulder, Colo., during her tour stop in Denver.

She may not be the “bad guy” after all — Billie Eilish was recently spotted in sharing love with the animals and staff from Brighter Days Dog Rescue and Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary.

The popular singer was in Colorado for the Denver stop of “Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour” which played at Ball Arena on Wednesday night.

Eilish is currently touring with opening act Nat and Alex Wolff, who were also spotted with the animals.

The rescue expressed appreciation for the meeting during a “tough week” in which they faced the loss of one of their rescue animals, Bear, and the hospitalization of another.

“Today our pups got to spend the day showered with love from Billie Eilish and her wonderful team,” the rescue shared on Facebook. “It’s so great to see an artist with such a large platform use it for good and to help the animals and the world.”

Photos from the rescue showed Eilish and Wolff interacting with animals from both the rescue and Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary, including a miniature horse named Sampson.

According to a source from Brighter Days Dog Rescue, Eilish requested time with the animals at Ball Arena, which is a common ritual for Eilish and other artists ahead of their shows.

Brighter Days Dog Rescue, which is based in Boulder, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from neglect, abuse, illness, and high-risk situations such as euthanasia, according to the organization’s website.

Operating entirely through a network of foster homes, the rescue provides individualized care to animals while working to match them with loving, permanent homes.

The rescue follows a thorough adoption process, requiring potential adopters to complete an application that is carefully reviewed to ensure compatibility. Once approved, adopters are introduced to dogs in foster care, often within 48 to 72 hours.

Adoption fees, ranging from $300 to $800, cover veterinary care, vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and microchipping to prepare the animals for their new families, their website notes.

The organization also emphasizes the importance of fostering, encouraging community members to provide temporary homes for dogs awaiting adoption. Foster periods typically last 10 to 14 days, with the rescue covering medical costs and supplies to make fostering “accessible and rewarding”, per the organization.

Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary, located in Henderson, is a haven for abused, neglected, and unwanted farm animals.

Founded by Andrea Davis, who transitioned from operating a slaughter-free dairy to establishing the sanctuary, the organization says it provides a “safe and loving environment for animals rescued from exploitation”. The sanctuary emphasizes education and hosts events to foster connections between humans and animals, according to their website.
