Denver weather: Pleasant temperatures Thursday ahead of weekend turbulence
A very pleasant day around metro Denver can be expected Thursday as sunny skies with a high near 85 are forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
An east southeast wind will blow between 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 17 mph.
Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 57. South winds to blow between 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 17 mph are forecast.
Clouds increase on Friday ahead of a big change in the weather pattern as a cold and wet weekend is forecast around metro Denver and the I-25 corridor from Castle Rock to Fort Collins.
Possible mountain snow as low as 10,000 feet is forecast in the Front Range Mountains from Cameron Pass to Hoosier Pass. Peaks along the Continental Divide could see up to 10 inches of snow.
Precipitation will stay in the form of rain in Denver over the weekend with temperatures staying in the high 60s and low 70s on Saturday, and may not reach 60 on Sunday.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming east southeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday: A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. West southwest wind 5 to 14 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph.
Sunday: A 50% chance of showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 59.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 77.
