“Country’s most celebrated festival of adventure sports” this weekend in Colorado

Vail’s GoPro Mountain Games is this weekend (June 6-9), and it’s full of exciting events.

According to the website, the GoPro Mountain Games are the “country’s most celebrated festival of adventure sports, art and music.” You can enjoy the festival as a participant or spectator.

The festival consists of events including biking, running, climbing, kayaking, rafting, stand-up paddleboaring, fishing, yoga, slacklining, and more. There are also activities and events for dogs, including the DockDogs events.

In Pro Plan DockDogs Outdoor Big Air, the dogs will fly “far and fast in what can only be described as long jump – doggie style.”

The mountain games will also feature live music with the Mountain of Music concert series. There will be free day time music sets at Mountain House Gear Town (Vail Village) and The Hangout (Golden Peak) from Thursday through Sunday.

There’s also plenty of activities for kids to enjoy, including fly-fishing clinics, stand-up paddleboard opportunities, slacklining, and a kids’ rock climbing wall. There are events for kids to compete in, and they can also just enjoy the outdoors and watch events, or have a new adventure.

Many vendors will doing giveaways throughout the festival, along with free activities.
