Monday’s weather across metro Denver is forecast to be very warm and dry, and the above average temperatures are to persist for most of the week.

Denver residents can expect sunny skies with a high near 79 today, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. A south southwest wind will blow between 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday night’s forecast is to be partly cloudy with a low around 46. An east wind will blow between 5 to 8 mph, becoming southwest in the evening.

In 2003: An extended warm spell resulted in five new temperature records. The high temperature of 84 degrees on the 18th equaled the record high for the date. High temperatures of 86 degrees on the 19th, 83 degrees on the 21st, and 84 degrees on the 22nd were record highs for the dates. Low temperature of 49 degrees on the 23rd was a record high minimum for the date. Low temperatures during the period were in the 40’s and lower 50’s.

Heading into the upcoming weekend, however, rain and snow showers are forecast for the Mile High City.
