Three must-see events this week:
1. NBA league year begins (10:01 a.m. Sunday) – The Nuggets will hopefully get more clarity on the Jonas Valanciunas situation once the trade becomes official on Sunday.
2. Genesis Scottish Open, first round (8:30 a.m. Thursday, Golf Channel) – Most of the big names in golf will get their tune-up before the Open Championship.
3. Nuggets vs. Bucks, NBA Summer League (7:30 p.m. Thursday, Altitude TV) – The biggest part of NBA Summer League for the Nuggets is a chance to see DaRon Holmes on the court for the first time in a year.
Numbers game
No. 23 — the MLB prospect ranking for the Rockies’ Charlie Condon. Condon, who is the top prospect in the organization, has five RBI in his first four games at Double-A.
Box office
$37.44 — The Colorado Rapids welcome one of the top teams in the Western Conference, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday. Plenty of tickets are available.
