Classroom monitor at Aurora elementary school arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of children
A man working as a classroom monitor in Aurora was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual exploitation of children, the Aurora Police Department announced.
Police said Wednesday 18-year-old Enrique de Jesus Carrillo-Rivera was charged with internet luring of a child and internet sexual exploitation of a child. He is being held in the Aurora City Jail.
Aurora police said they received a report Monday alleging inappropriate sexual conduct by Carrillo-Rivera. Limited information is being released as the investigation is active, police said.
Carrillo-Rivera was employed as a classroom monitor at Vaughn Elementary School in the Aurora Public Schools district. Schools officials said he is no longer employed following the accusations.
Police said they believe there may be additional victims that have not yet reported Carrillo-Rivera. Police urged parents whose children attend Vaughn Elementary School to speak with their children about possible victimization and call police dispatch at 303-627-3100 with any information.
