Denver Weather: Calm and cloudy ahead of snow showers this week

May the fourth be with you, and maybe some snow too.

Partly cloudy Monday morning with a chance for rain showers and storms later in the afternoon.

Temperatures will remain mild, with a high of 72 degrees today, before freezing temperatures and winter-like conditions return, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

That’s actually 6 degrees warmer than the average high for May 4 in Denver, , according to weather service archive data.

Denver could see wind gusts up to 21 mph, according to the weather service.

“Tuesday morning here comes that storm front and we’ll see kind of a mix of rain and snow off and on Tuesday morning,” said Denver Gazette partner Cory Reppenhagen from 9News.

Meteorologists said there’s about an 80% chance of precipitation on Monday night, which will continue into Tuesday, when we will see a mix of rain and possibly snow.

There is a 100% chance of precipitation on Tuesday night with an estimated snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches, according to the weather service.
