Rockies’ No. 1 prospect Ethan Holliday sustains major injury setback
Ethan Holliday, the top prospect in the Rockies organization, sustained a major injury setback.
The 19-year-old Holliday will undergo surgery after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot, according to sources within the organization. The surgery will cause the shortstop to miss the rest of the 2026 season.
There was no clear indication of when or how the injury occurred, and there is no set timetable for Holliday’s return.

This season, Holliday slashed .262/.395/.557 in 122 at-bats over 33 games for Single-A Fresno. Since being selected fourth overall in the 2025 MLB draft, Holliday has slashed .254/.381/.492 in 193 at-bats with Fresno, hitting 11 home runs, including nine this season.
