$1 million bike park opens in Colorado mountain town

Fraser bike park is officially open, offering another great biking option in Grand County.

According to 9News, the bike park and pump track came at a price of $1 million, opening last weekend at Cousins Ranch Open Space near Lions Pond, located just off of U.S. Highway 40.

The newly-opened Fraser Bike Park is designed to cater to riders of all abilities, said a spokesperson for the town, helping beginners learn the basics and more experienced riders hone their skills. The project was funded via a combination of grants, town investment, and partnerships with the goal of benefiting both local residents and visitors, alike. Admission to the bike park is free.

The bike park includes a variety of options – a pump track, a skills area, jump lines, drops, wall rides, and other features. Many of these offerings cater to developing the skills needed to take full advantage of downhill bike parks in the area.

“The bike park complements Fraser’s existing trail network and reinforces the Town’s position as a mountain biking destination in Grand County,” said a spokeperson.

Grand County is already known for the many opportunities for mountain biking and cycling that it offers, home to Winter Park’s Trestle Park downhill park and a downhill park plus lift-accessible trails at Granby Ranch, not to mention the many single-track trails in the area and the Fraser River Trail path.
