Colorado State hires NCAA champion Michelle Gascoigne as softball coach | Colorado Sunshine

Where good news shines

Colorado State has a new softball coach.

CSU hired Michelle Gascoigne as the 13th softball coach in Fort Collins, Athletics Director John Weber said Monday. Gascoigne replaces Jen Fisher, who retired in May after 16 seasons and 373 wins.

Gascoigne had been the pitching coach at Northwestern for the past 11 seasons and won the 2013 NCAA title as a pitcher at Oklahoma.

“I am excited to welcome Michelle, her husband Tony and children Skyler and Brayden to Fort Collins. Michelle has been a winner on and off the diamond every step of her career, first as a student-athlete at Oklahoma and more recently during her time on staff at Northwestern,” Weber said.

Northwestern went 360-195-1 with Gascoigne on staff. The Wildcats made the NCAA regionals eight times with one Women’s College World Series appearance in those 11 seasons.
