Denver residents are in for a cloudy Thursday with a chance of rain/snow showers, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The NWS forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain and snow showers before 8 a.m., with scattered showers later in the day. Little to no snow accumulation is expected. Thursday’s high temperature should be in the low 50s, the weather agency said.

“Snow showers will increase over the mountains today and continue tonight, with the heaviest snow along and south of I-70 and across portions of South Park and the southern Foothills,” the NWS said. “Several inches of wet snow will be possible especially tonight. Elsewhere there will be a good chance of showers along with a slight chance of thunderstorms along closer to the foothills and over the Palmer Divide. Most of the plains will only see a slight chance of showers.”

The nighttime low is expected to be about 40 degrees, with showers likely before midnight, according to NWS.

Friday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. South southwest wind 6 to 13 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.

Sunday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.
