Firefighter injured tackling house fire in Aurora
AURORA, Colo. — A firefighter sustained a injury and was taken to the hospital early Monday after a house fire in Aurora.
Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR) said it responded to a fire in the 13500 blook of East Center Avenue, near Interstate 225 and East Mississippi Avenue, just before 1 a.m. Monday.
Firefighters arrived to flames engulfing a two-car garage, front yard and fence. AFR said high heat and fire was damaging a neighboring home and firefighters used a hose line to prevent the structure from igniting.
AFR said one firefighter sustained a minor injury and was taken to the hospital but is ok.
AFR is on scene of an unoccupied house fire in the 13500 block of E. Center Ave. Crews found a large volume of fire consuming the garage and attic space on arrival. The fire is under control and under investigation.
