1 injured in shooting near ICE detention facility in Aurora
AURORA, Colo. — Police are investigating a shooting near the ICE detention facility in Aurora.
Aurora Police said a person was shot Thursday night around the corner from the facility near Peoria Street and East 30th Avenue, which is operated by the private prison contractor GEO Group. They expect the person to survive their injuries.
Officers detained a man.
A protest was happening outside the facility at the time of the shooting, which is not unusual there.
