All Jack in the Box locations in the greater Colorado Springs area have closed.

Three restaurants at 3654 Austin Bluffs Parkway, in the Marketplace at Austin Bluffs; 3690 New Center Point, in the First and Main Town Center; and at 6314 S. U.S. 85-87 in Fountain, just south of the Springs, were closed on Monday and Tuesday during otherwise regular operating hours.

The closures seem to have occurred earlier this month, according to local social media reports.

Jack in the Box did not immediately respond to The Gazette’s request for more information.

Jack in the Box branding has been removed from all three buildings and the drive-thru menu boards are empty and turned off.

Signs taped to each building alert customers of the stores’ closures: “Restaurant closed until further notice. No trespassing,” they read.

It’s unclear whether the closures are permanent or temporary. A Google Maps search on Tuesday afternoon indicated the restaurants on Austin Bluffs Parkway and at New Center Point were closed but would reopen; the restaurant in Fountain is “permanently closed,” Google shows.

A list of Colorado locations on Jack in the Box’s website shows there are none in Colorado Springs or its surrounding communities.

It was also unclear if the closures are part of a broader restructuring strategy the San Diego-based company announced in April 2025.

The multifaceted “JACK on Track” strategy included a plan to implement a block-closure program that would close about 150-200 underperforming restaurants. The company said in an April 23, 2025, news release it would close about 80-120 Jack in the Box locations between then and Dec. 31, 2025, “with the remaining underperforming restaurants closing thereafter based upon respective franchise agreement termination dates.”

Jack in the Box was founded in February 1951 in San Diego. The American fast-food joint offers a variety of quick-serve options like cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, tacos, curly French fries and more.

The brand has about 2,128 restaurants across 24 states, Guam and Mexico, its webpage for investors states.
