Denver Public Schools, several other districts to close Monday for snow day

Several school districts in the Denver metro area are closing their doors Monday because of the ongoing blizzard that hit the state this weekend.

In Denver, snowfall has accumulated to nearly 20 inches as of Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Most cities in the metro area are under accident alert, with officials urging residents to stay home.

All schools in the Denver Public Schools District will close completely Monday. This included the cancellation of all remote classes.

The same closure applies to Adams 12 Five Star Schools, Adams County School District 14, Littleton Public Schools, Sheridan Public Schools, Englewood Public Schools and the Brighton School District.

District administrative offices, activities and events will also be closed and canceled in these districts. 

For DPS, if the hazardous weather continues into Tuesday, remote classes will resume.

Westminster Public Schools, Mapleton Public Schools, Jefferson County Public Schools and Boulder Valley School District will cancel in-person classes and activities but continue remote instruction Monday.

General Assembly calls a snow day, cancels business on Monday, March 15

BVSD’s Monday food distribution will be pushed to Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Nederland Middle-Senior High and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 6500 Arapahoe Ave.

The Aurora Public School District, Cherry Creek School District, Douglas County School District, Bennett School District and Weld County School District all begin spring break on Monday and will not have any classes.

For these school districts, all scheduled in-person activities and programs will be closed Monday.
